In a bid to gain credibility in the ongoing “TV Wars” as a creator of compelling original content, the WGN America network threw its hat in the ring with Salem. Meant to go head-to-head with the Sunday night traffic jam of great television, Salem is a twisted take on the actual witch trials that blends historical facts, settings, and characters with a shocking fictional interpretation.

How did WGNA's first foray into original programming go?
